Bio

I  am a certified Generalist EC-6 Texas teacher with an ESL Supplemental endorsement. I graduated from Letourneau University December 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I completed student teaching in the fourth grade at West Side Elementary in Jacksonville ISD under the direction of Stephanie Ganske.  I spent this time preparing a variety of lessons and a social studies unit.  I thoroughly enjoyed the time I devoted to these students and helping them realize their capabilities.

After my student teaching experience, I was exceptionally motivated to enter my own classroom.  I accepted a position in Palestine ISD at A.M. Story Intermediate School.  This position required collaboration with other teachers to create lesson plans, not only covering the required Social Studies objective, but also integrating all Reading and Language Arts TEKS.  The last two years I have been responsible for primarily Reading and Language Arts.

In addition to my time spent in the public school classroom, I have had professional experiences in early childhood education at three learning centers.  I have worked with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years both as a full-time teacher and a summer program teacher.  I have unique experience planning and organizing field trips, musical programs, and other classroom events.

After 3 years of commuting to Palestine, I finally accepted my dream job and came home to Jacksonville ISD.  I am looking forward to many wonderful years teaching students from my own community.
